It took a little longer than we hoped ... Congratulations Jim Renacci!

It took a move to another district and a hard fought race, but Jim Renacci has unseated Betty Sutton in the 16th Congressional District. Congratulations Jim!

From the Akron Beacon Journal, November 7, 2012:

Renacci beats Sutton in race for the 16th District

"U.S. Rep. Jim Renacci was leading U.S. Rep. Betty Sutton in the hotly contested 16th Congressional District race Tuesday night with about 52 percent of the vote, according to the unofficial election results.

“I am deeply humbled by the opportunity that voters in the 16th District have given me to serve again as their voice in Washington,” Renacci said in a news release..."
I still live in the 13th District. So this particular race didn't impact me directly this year - which is why I chose not to continue to update this blog during election season. However, I take heart in knowing that the people of District 16 were able to evaluate their options and see that Jim Renacci was the candidate who would best represent the region. I'm looking forward to watching Rep. Renacci's progress.

Congratulations on a great race, Jim!
